Experience, Training, and a Clear Therapeutic Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 20 years of experience helping adults and couples navigate relationship distress, trauma, grief, anger, and major life transitions.
Throughout my career, I have worked with people facing complex and deeply personal challenges. This experience has taught me that effective therapy requires compassion and careful listening, but also a clear understanding of what helps people create meaningful and lasting change.
What It Is Like to Work With Me
My style is active, compassionate, direct, and structured. I listen carefully to both partners while also identifying patterns that may be difficult to recognize when you are caught inside them.
I will offer observations, ask focused questions, and help you move beyond the surface details of an argument to understand what is happening underneath it. I do not view either partner as the problem. Instead, we examine the cycle that has developed between you and how each person’s reactions—often shaped by understandable needs, fears, and past experiences—may unintentionally keep that cycle going.
Therapy with me is collaborative, but it is also purposeful. We will not simply talk about the relationship from week to week. We will use a clear treatment framework to identify what needs to change, strengthen understanding and emotional connection, and help both partners respond to each other in more effective ways
Finding the Right Fit
Finding the right couples therapist can be especially challenging because the relationship needs to feel right for both partners. Each person should feel heard, respected, and confident that the therapist understands their concerns without automatically taking sides.
It is also important that both partners feel comfortable with the therapist’s style and approach. A free 15-minute consultation gives you an opportunity to ask questions, get a sense of how I work, and begin determining whether I may be a good fit for both of you.
